Soak the raisins in warm water for 10 minutes, then drain well and pat dry.

Beat the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy, about 2 minutes.

Mix in the eggs and vanilla until smooth.

In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt, then stir into the wet mixture.

Fold in the oats and drained raisins until evenly combined.

Chill the dough 30 minutes if you have time. Heat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and line sheets with parchment.

Scoop 2-tablespoon mounds, space 2 inches apart, and bake 10 to 12 minutes until the edges are set but centers look soft.
